Yup, the only things you can count on are what you prep. It's why Fireball Magnet is considered non-negotiable for the Goatperson, and it was quite significant that it was available (still kicking myself for taking Binlor, though).

Dosen't matter unforturnately when JJ is poisens you twice in a row, you can't find any level 1 enemies, and then you die from hunger. (I could've converted glyphs, and tried to stay alive for 4 enemies, while being poisened and out of food, but I forgot, and it probary wouldn't have worked anyways)

Goo and Super Meat Man require a lot of resources to beat through, so blowing through that many resources early on would probably end your run anyways. I managed to get to Petition while only being poisoned once. Sadly, I kept bouncing between Binlor and GG so I was never able to build up any piety after that. It wasn't until I was level 7 that I got back into JJ, and by then I had to go for boost mana to hit the 18 mana threshold for 3 fireballs per restore.

This daily was more challenging than usual thanks to the monster layout. When I had to start the bossfight about 1/3 of my popcorn was still hidden in blackspace, as well as many shops and 2 of my glpyhs. I could have explored more, but wanted to be sure I have the tiles needed to handle SMM.
Another problem was getting Taurog almost every second time when I put a lot of effort into reaching 21 mana. On top of that I didn't encounter JJ one more time after picking up petition, even though a 2nd boost mana would have helped a ton.

I wonder if the god hopping is seeded. For me it was 4 Taurog, 4 GG and 2 JJ worships.

Both GG and JJ offer Piety for converting food, GG flat 2 points per ration, JJ random (cca. 50% to get 2-4 piety). It is not diabolical to click the food a few times if all you need is a bit of Piety. It's risky because you lose out on your "reach", and may have to leave some tiles unexplored, but if this helps you get that one kill you need to level up that will then allow you to 1-shot some monsters, etc., it's still workable. Especially if you're a bit later in the game, and you need restorations...

I disagree about Soul Orb being a bad prep for this run. Even with no manaburn sources this is a high CP small item, well worth taking. The map had JJ as 1st god, so the Orb protected against one of the worst punishments. There are 2 'random monster slots' for this dungeon, if one was taken by Wraiths it would have been even better.

The shield was more situational, just imagine if most of the lvl1s were curse slimes or JJ's starting punishment was a layer of curse...

It's nice that Conjunction worked out for you Tinker, I skipped it to make worship more predictable.

I believe the RG run was tailored to be easier. It had B2P, 3 spellcasting deities, 2 weakling bosses and an ok 3rd one, increased number of monsters and as a result a bigger food supply. One of the monster types were Wraiths... So, yeah it was very friendly. Compared to starting JJ and frequent Taurog.

Well, today's was a gimme. Even has built-in misclick protection

With Yendor in the shop pool translocation was way more valuable than I thought it would be. The one nasty thing was that the glyph placement. I had trouble accumulating GG piety due to simply not finding any glyphs until I was already level 3. My time is wildly incorrect; I was over a minute faster than it's reporting.
