Halfling Fighter in Cursed Oasis
CO is always tricky, but today's setup was perhaps more mellow than usual. With my preps I had lots of choices, in the end I went for a mono-TT approach, but I think both Earthmother or Dracul could be useful today.

I recommend taking the Transmutation Seal because otherwise there is no way to enter the secret sub, which is quite a head start. (I stoned a slowed L1 and then slowed Glenrick, plus had learnings, so I got 46 XP for him, that's almost a Yendor...)

I made a choice to rather keep the BattleMage Ring (I was considering converting it and buying the Martyr Wraps instead), I kind of regretted that when I realized that the Shade Boss sports high resists and so the Wraps would've given more damage against him. Then again, the gold I saved did give me +10 piety, so who knows which was better?

Ran out of steam during the mop-up, I always forget how resource-intense those AAs are to mop up. And since I play without Blackspace, I couldn't regen-fight them, so I could only go on as long as my potions lasted.

So, definitely not playing optimally when I start killing the Shade boss at level 10, but still being able to get top XP and Piety just goes to show how strong EM is for a run in CO. Just be careful if you are banking on using some shop items cos you might accidentally cut off access to them when petrifying plants below.

If played properly, grabbing more levels of Learning from TT for the mop-up would definitely let you push XP score even higher.

* Dwarf Fighter in the Berserker Camp *

Another fighter, another chance to remember how easy they level. There were some altars, but like a good number of people I didn't use them... it's not that they're bad, it's just that things were going so smoothly I just kept going and finished. They'd all just have made levelling more insane than it already was.

* Gorgon in the Shifting Passages *

This time I remembered the most important thing:

Things were pretty good after that. Could have wished for different gods, but the shops were good. BURNDAYRAZ was hiding on me.

* Elf Assassin in the Shifting Passages *

Back at the same place, with another poison user...

Overall, a nice day for a mage assassin.
