Had a bloodmage run waiting in VHOS. Decided to run a Gnome with Consensus so as not to have anything reductive around. Anyway, first run was a beautiful Dwarven Gauntlets + Alchemist's Scroll, and Drac on the board and ended with a miserable misclick. Sad times. Second was a pure (late conversion in) Taurog Gnome Bloodmage, also with the Alchemist's Scroll. Went astoundingly well. Really enjoyed the health/restore build.

Took the VT through the last of the regular vicious dungeons (ie not VGT).

I wish some of the veterans would post more of their crazy stunts. I tried out the lvl 1 Rat Monarch killing a lvl 10 boss idea from a few pages back. Worked like a charm under the right conditions. I wonder if a lvl 1 RM win is possible in VT VHOS.

Mmm... so VT VHOS is too easy. Maybe a nice annotated playthrough of VT VGT.

So this is more to the "general purpose" part, not so much the "bragging" part, but I didn't want to create a new topic just yet and I wanted to share my test into Chaos Avatar giving XP.

So I did 2 test runs (very basic Eastern Tundra, no VT, Dwarf Tinker prepping JJ in both cases). I tried to play similarly, i.e. going for kills that only level me 1 level, and trying to slow everything (I managed to do that, except for 3-4 golems in both cases). I deliberately did not use IMAWAL/Alchemist Pact/Balanced Dagger/etc., to keep things simple.

Exhibit A: run where I *did not* take Chaos Avatar:

I earned 266 total XP, 101 of which is bonus. The 101 bonus XP is thanks to 64 bonus from killing high-level monsters; and 37 thanks to killing monsters slowed. The (266-101=) 165 base XP is explainable by: 149 XP for the standard 38 monsters; +6 for Glenrick; +10 for Blahblah.

Exhibit B: run where I *did* take Chaos Avatar:

I earned 324 total XP, 110 of which is bonus. The 110 bonus XP is thanks to 74 bonus from killing high-level monsters; and 36 thanks to killing monsters slowed. The (324-110=) 214 base XP is explainable by: 149 for the standard 38 monsters; +5 for the "free boosters" sub monster; +10 for Blahblah; and +50 XP for the Chaos Avatar I took at Level 10, at precisely 0/50 XP.

This is strange, are we running different versions or something? Or maybe it works differently if you take it at a high level.

I did two quick bloodmage runs, both times killing the boss at lvl 4:

There's 38 bonus xp, which is 32 from the boss, 2 from the first kill, and 4 from slowed monsters.
I leveled up to 3, which 15 xp, then used chaos avatar for no xp, then killed the boss for 10+32=42, for a total of 57 xp.



Here there's more bonus xp, because I killed more monsters (most of whom were slowed). But the total is 72 xp, accounting for the missing 15 to get from 3 to 4. I earned 30 xp levelling up to 4, then killed the boss for another 42, landing me at 72 xp.

Later today I'll try taking CA at level 10 and see if that makes a difference.
