The DD wiki just developed an infestation of some kind of weird spambots.

Just checked the wiki quickly but couldn't find any spam. Did you edit it out already?
In that case thanks!

Ah I see now.
Wow that's a huge bot influx.

Heh, I learned a new thing about wikis, they have a recent changes page :P

Btw can bots be banned from the page? Sorry if this is a silly question, never edited wikis before.

Crap.

I'll see if there's a way to maybe update the blacklists. That might help with signups :(

Is there a captcha that gates the sign-up process?

I tried to get a good signup protection system ages ago, but the wiki systems were waaaaay more time-intensive than I was expecting, so I focused on fixing the game instead ;)

Spam's getting critical on the wiki. We're averaging 150 pages of spam added per day. It was never this bad historically. I can't keep up with this on a volunteer basis; there are currently 1600 orphaned pages, over 99% spam.

At this point, we should just purge every orphaned page and all talk pages. It'll be easier to clean up the collateral damage than trying to purge that all out manually.

Agreed with Darvin. I've been trying to update the Sign Stories to better piece together our knowledge of lore, and I'd like to examine recent changes while I'm at it, but it's all swamped in spam.
