I'm unable to load the game on the web version, all I see is a download unity button.

So far I've tried downloading the latest version, clearing the cache in firefox, trying to run the game in maxthon or internet explorer - cleared the cache in those as well.

Tried a unity truobleshooting method found on the site:
Close all browsers.
Use Control Panel to uninstall the Unity Web Player.
Reboot your machine.
Download a new copy of the latest webplayer plugin from: http://unity3d.com/webplayer/
Again close all browsers.
Run the webplayer installer.

None of these worked. At the same time I can run the demos from the unity site or any unity game from sites like Kongregate.

What should I do?

This is a Unity bug - they're not supplying the correct version number when your plugin checks with their site.

Best we can do is wait for them to do something about it. This happens every few months when they update the webplayer.

So my plugin is outdated and whenever I try to download a newer one I'm just keep receiving the same old version?

Yup. It appears like that's the issue, I think. The same thing hit me a few months ago - I had to test web builds on other machines for a while. It mysteriously went away after a week or two though.

I'm not sure what can be done to fix the issue - broswers and plugins are a horrible mess right now, with very little reason to fix all of it because plugins are apparently the devil

As it's been a week since the webplayer is down, and I'm traveling soon, I searched a bit on this issue and haven't really found much on the Unity forums. (There is a specific recent Chrome-related plugin problem, but I'm using Firefox.) Furthermore, I poked around a couple of webplayer applications, and all of the ones I tried seem to work normally.

Is it certain that this is a generic unity webplayer problem, and not something somehow specific to Desktop Dungeons (or a set of games including DD)? I'm a bit worried that they might not even know that there is a problem, if it doesn't affect every game.

I've just updated the web build. See if that makes a difference?

I get that in Chrome, but it works fine in Firefox at the moment for me... Chrome is pretty much dead to us when it comes to the web player these days.

Today it is working again! I am on firefox, too.
