I was quite unlucky with exploration, until lvl6 I barely found lower level monsters so there were multiple times I had to walk foodlessly to save resources. It was also annoying that I found Gettindare late, really limited my JJ game. I wanted to reach high mana too, but only made it to 33. At least all the yoyoing payed out, by the end I had ~70 excess food on a fully explored map.

I wonder what will happen on the next goat run. Bad monster layout + SMM? On Ick Swamp too, to keep it interesting?

I've been looking at nope.gif animations instead of actually doing the run. I guess I have to go ahead and do it soon.

Ok, I made it. I was sort of expecting to get mega-screwed, but this wasn't as bad as most Goatperson runs. The spoiler about going counterclockwise probably saved me. Flame Magnet was good to have - let me take on the initial Level 2 Gorgon without exploring at all. Not quite as nice as Smuggler's Den would have been, but I'll take it.

I almost died when I clicked a level 9 troll on accident because I was just exploring too fast. 2HP from death...

Anyway, a Battlemage ring and Blood Curse let me take on Tower of Goo at "fake-level" 7. I took one Absolution to be able to tank a single hit, not that I could afford Whupaz, but I was getting refills from conversions and I had Whurrgarbl, so it seemed prudent. And it was. I actually killed this boss off of burn stacks by hitting a popcorn monster.

Aequitas was really easy by the time I found him, and with my Battlemage ring ready to go and all.

It was really funny seeing the items be so much more identical for everyone than usual. A few Perseverance Badges here and there, and a couple Binlors, but the rest was all straight-up Goatperson safety start: Flame Magnet, Stone Sigil (piety/kill), and Elven Boots. I guess Quest Items was more popular than Binlor. Binlor is usually safe, but since you can't "join" him, you don't get PISORF and you can lose piety if you don't get good glyph drops. Pretty hilarious. Good thing I went with Quest Items.

I just updated the Goatperson wiki page. Man, loved those Elven Boots today. I'm still not a master Goatperson, so please check to see if I screwed anything up.

Rat Monarch, Venture Cave

Pretty uneventful run. Would've liked to see more tank items spawn, but Normal dragon boss isn't the worst. Viper Ward did some good work, or else popcorn and XP might've been harder to deal with as a Rat.

Gloves of Midas and Bloody Sigil spawn right away, impossible to miss. Just finding an excuse to blow a Regal Perks at an early level was a challenge, but they're cheap, pay for themselves, and turn into CP, so it's not a bad deal. Arguably, Bloody Sigil never goes obsolete on a Rat anyway. Also, nice little Mage Plate shop not long after. It's a pretty ideal Rat setup - start Midas, end Mageplate. Platemail would've been ideal, but it wasn't really a problem. I could've gone Earthmother if it got bad, but I was able to tank a hit from the boss without overheal, so I stuck with Mystera.
