Had a quick peek to see what today's daily is: Goatperson in The Slime Pit. Ouch!

@Tinker: Tried to do the same as you, got close, just 4 XP shy of your awesome score (think you had 440 XP).

@William: Having mixed feelings about this. Slime Pit isn't that "hard" in terms of finding monsters, so probably not as bad as Northern Desert with regards to dying from starving. I guess the Orb of Zot can really help with early leveling and for when you are ready to take on bosses.

I think it should be ok, fingers crossed, :)

:x

I was doing pretty decent with this one... at level 6 with an easy kill to level and PISORF spamming the bosses together, when my whole computer froze. I couldn't move the mouse or CTRL+ALT+DEL, or anything. :x After a full minute of staring at the screen I just had to accept my fate and hold down the power button.

Anyway, for a good chunk of the map I was starving, but would find a killable monster just in time. It seems as if there's not as many level 1s as usual around the middle circle. Of course I had the Mace, and ENDISWAL spawns close to the start, so I went through walls rather than conventional passageways.

That's a terrible way to go :-(

Anyways, Vegetarian Vampire subdungeon is filled with crimson pods today allowing you to rack up max MP. I went for a health broth and three magi soups.

Deity pool is JJ/Taurog/PM, all of them fairly close to each other and near the entrance. However, exploring in that direction offers very little other than altar access and there are few monsters or glyphs worth picking up there. BURNDAYRAZ, the hidden subdungeon (which is armory, by the way) and the majority of the good level-up fodder are elsewhere. I had to blow two health potions at level 1 because I ran out of food, but after that initial scare I found some good level-up fodder and everything went smoothly from then on.

My only loss this year was with computer freezing similarly to how you guys describe while playing DD daily. Weird.

Ugh, if I had 2 more mana or 10 more health I would've won. I hate losing when the boss just needs one more hit.

Oh my, I'm sorry to hear all the dying and all!

I had no class this morning, and decided to stay home to work on a project, but of course I dived right into the Daily first (you gotta have your priorities!). Hopefully this makes the spoilers early enough to prevent more unnecessary losses...

Complete spoilers (some repeats of previous info, some new):
