+infinity on the window idea. It is exactly what we need.

+another indinity on fran's suggestion.

And I've got thoughts on the compression seal, but they part of the potential text wall.

I have misgivings about Elven Boots. Or rather, for textwally reasons, I misgive that the 15% magic resistance, the only non-boon source, is stuck on an Elite item. It seems like a decent "set piece" while the rest of them are more mish-mash. Probably has to do with keeping the Berserker in line, but still.

And very right about the Gauntlets - Troll Heart is a very inventory management friendly item, the Gauntlet's are too valuable to scrap for space. And if the elite prep fills your shops up with stuff that requires a translocation seal, you don't even have the compression seal you normaly would, so that's more inventory space issues.

Come to think of it, the reason I still wouldn't prep elite items is inventory space rather than prohibitive cost. Anything that would cut me short of my guaranteed compression scroll just doesn't seem worth it. Except the guitar. The guitar rocks.

I'd still prep them on any serious Tinker run, but I'd be really struggling to decide on my third seal. Yeah, you can steal two, but you only got so much inventory space. Plenty of them are a bit strat specific, although that needs testing.

I think just knocking 5 gold off the 4 most expensive items (Yendor, Zot, Boots, Gauntlets) would seriously help the cost problems.

I'm all for the "5 less gold" solution. Let's try that out and see if it works.

It'd also be nice if the cost to prep them from the locker was brought down. I'd love to use these for an early kingdom, but when gold is tight their cost is outrageous.

Yeah, see, that's the thing. The Elite pack is the equivalent of two compression seals AND two items whose sole purpose is already to simply "fire and evaporate". So if I choose one of the other two seals with the direct goal of facilitating Elite items ... I don't feel like I'm losing a Compression at all.
