Soooooooo since a few Curse Oasis runs ago I made the mistake by not picking up the special Dragon Soul, and almost didn't finish the fight with the Cursed Dragon, this time I'm extra careful. Like saving popcorns around to deal with the Cursed Dragon's Curse attack.

Only when I started fighting him did I realize that the special Dragon Soul removes the Curse trait from enemies.
Well at least I know I could have had a much easier time against him if I hadn't converted my APHEELSIK and saved all these popcorns for him. Probably would have gotten both Parched and Specialist then. Oh well.

I'd say today's daily is pretty kind for Cursed Oasis. All the right tools are lying around waiting to be picked up. Win ratio isn't very high right now but I think it'll go up with more veterans entering the fray.

This was a really, really interesting run, right from the prep screen, with the big question being whether or not to go with the Really Big Sword. It's probably more trouble than it's worth normally, but with an Assassin you don't have to worry about popcorn harvesting... yet you will lose out on the the first strike against surrounded targets. I'm one of the few who went for it. Then things got even more complicated. I grab the WEYTWUT and immediately hit up the wiki page on strike order. Then I find Tikki Tokki. And I go for it. With a slowed monster and a GETINDARE you get to hit before the monster, so I ended up being a Tikki Tokki worshipping slow striker that relied on two glyphs to finish monsters. And it worked.

It took me 3/4 of the map to find fireball, even though I wasn't stuck in the curse realm. Once I had that on board things started to speed up considerably. I believe I went gold->piety boon into poison boon to convert APHEELSIK without too much loss, then Learning. That's about when I found fireball and then Agnostic's Collar showed up, Curse Shade was easy with the piercing, large mana pool, and easy mid-fight level, and by the end I had 4 Quicksilver/Reflex sets to shred the boss with ease.

Elves are kinda cool! :)
Elf Assassin of Tikki Tooki is a pretty powerful build, fit for Vicious scenarios, so today I played her a bit more like a hybrid, going for attack% preps and only picking up Tikki Tooki late (once all high-level monsters were dead). It worked nicely, the only danger today was misclick. Interesting prep choices today, I'm curious if anyone goes with Bear Mace + Rock Heart, and how well it plays (after some thought I went with the Mana Boosters but it was only because I already picked up some stuff and didn't want to start with a full-ish inventory).

The Bear Mace is an awesome prep to fight the Shades. You can negate their blink by knocking them back, and if you can place them next to a wall, you even enjoy a hefty 25% damage bonus (pretty much offsetting your Assassin handicap), so even higher level shades become killable. Otherwise your best bet is to just outlevel them and use Swift Hands, though that can be difficult with the Curse Shade at least... :)
"Thinker", just without the "ache".

Ugh, blink and lifesteal... I got this guy down to about 30% when he blinks into one of the six remaining empty black tiles. I still squeezed this one out, though. I just had to resort to some melee hits at the end. I only had 3 squares above ground and a subdungeon for blackspace for the main boss, and I had to ding just to refill BEFORE I started the main boss after getting low on the shade.

I used Weakness (or whatever it's called) from Mystera twice to fight the shade. I probably should have saved piety to convert into Tikki later on instead of going all-out there, but with poison, a bit of blackspace, Platemail, and a stack of potions, I was ok for taking out the main boss. I probably could've hit 10 if I'd used the IMAWAL, but oh well.

My purist braggadocio does not hold up with Cursed Oasis. Ended up with 26 mana, Mystic balance and 150ish health, which translates to 5 fireballs per level. Ended up going with the Mystera->Tikki swap and fireballing the Curse Dragon down with the aid of Weytwut. Had half a dozen health potions, a Schadenfreude and a few mana ones left over and the piety to swap into Drac if I'd had to.

Really strong class/race combo and excellent gods on the board. I think the very high (just shy of 50% it looks like) winrate for a CO run reflects that.

This one went really smooth, I just regenfought Dragons and the lvl 9 Bandits twice my level using apheelsik, combined with IMAWAL, this left a ton of popcorn. At level 7 I decided to just kill the Dragon and leave the shade alone, didn't want to bother thinking about him. Joined TT, hitted the Dragon once per level (uncursed via IMAWAL on Bandits and killing other popcorn, including lvl 8 Animated Armours thanks to being Assassin), also regen fought some hits in. In the end, I didn't even need all the Quicksilver and Reflex potions. Guess thats just more gold for me to take home. ;)

Humbled again. Would have had a ten in a row win streak...but not to be.

Just couldn't get ahead today. Ran out of monsters but didn't manage getting enough experience doing it. In the end I just threw myself at the cursed shade to put me out of my misery.

The one good thing was that I managed the moving between realms better. Didn't get over-cursed like the last time this map was used.

Ah well.... start again tomorrow. :-)

I think MA->TT->Dracul is the stronger option tbh. Dracul generates less piety and XP from kills and can also generate a lot after the board's cleared.
