Congrats!!!

At first I misread Vicious Steel for VGT so I was really shocked (I don't even know if Purist + VT is doable in VGT).
I'm less shocked now that I found my mistake but I'm still very impressed nonetheless.
I'm especially impressed by the choice, Berserker is an uncommon pick for me, and Halfling even more, and I would never have tried to beat a Vicious Dungeon with a VT+Purist.
Yet I rainbowed NC and VGT and got VT in other Vicious dungeons too.
I'm confident that this is just a question of time until you beat DL + VT (unless you try it Purist too)

I have no recollection of which strategy I used sadly.
We made an expansion and it is awesome. Really, you should check it out, especially if you're looking for some extra challenge.

I always thought Purist is equally valuable with VT, and also with Vicious dungeons. And that's why I always do either Purist, Vicious, VT (or crazy fun) runs on my youtube. And it's actually my first time to see doing "Triple Vicious" - it's super shocking for me. I think I should try it (and realize how much that was a crazy good job).

I guess it was possible because Vicious Steel is the easiest vicious dungeon, especially on VT: it's the only dungeon whose bosses are on the main level of the dungeon, hence the actual effect of the difficulty modifier does not rocket crazy high. It'll be quadruple shocking when someone do other vicious dungeon like that.

EDIT: It wasn't vicious as I thought, surprisingly. I tried Orc Berserker (failed), Gnome Assassin (failed), then this. Won on 4th? trial of Gob Assassin, so it's still hard.

Nice jobs, both of them. Too bad there is no video :)

The one from choongmyoung is a bit boring, since it is the usual "TT + several shot of learning and skip fighting anyone" strategy. He could not pull it off without TT.

Don't rat on him too hard. Double Vicious + Purist requires luck. I had to try three times with that Haflingzerker because I needed a Taurog opening, even on a map heavily slanted in favor of the Berserker.

Also, choong, I'm surprised you've never heard of a triple vicious run. There's an old topic here on the forum (few years ago) where some of the old vets were trying to win triple vicious on the various dungeons without scumming. Every dungeon except VGT has been managed so far. Granted, IIRC, the other vicious dungeons did many tries, which...in a way, is kinda equivalent to scumming for good luck anyways.

Yeah, Vicious Halls of Steel is the easiest Vicious. Dragon Isles ain't too bad either.

Ok, then here goes another one. (Actually, yeah, that's why I re-did this.)

I'm sure these harder runs need strategies somewhat beyond the power curve. It may be Assassin under TT, punchomancer, resistance stacking or anything.

For your info, Vicious Steel is far easier with VT than other Vicious dungeons. The reason for this is that the bosses in Vicious Steel are not in a subdungeon. VT sets the difficulty multiplier to a flat 160%, I think, but Vicious Steel already has a multiplier of 140%, so there isn't that much of a change to the boss fight (which isn't to say the dungeon itself isn't hard of course, just that the other dungeons are worse). In comparison, in DI or DL, the boss is in a subdungeon which normally has a difficulty multiplier of 100%. Thus the Matron and the Avatar will have hugely increased stats compared to the dungeon without VT (75 damage becomes 120, and health is doubled as opposed to BlahBlah's more tame 120 -> 137 damage, and 1.5x HP modifier). So if you really want a hard challenge, go ahead and try one of those (I'm not clear on whether Namtar's is possible without lots of scumming). Good luck! ;)

To make it clear: 160% health and 200% health.
Two interesting things:
Naga's arena has 120% difficulty already.
Both GT have 100% (like all other arenas of vicious dungeons) on the final sub, but Horatio's health is fixed so he only gets attack bonus.
