@UnidentifiedTower

Thanks again for your bug reports, I fixed them (they will be available in the South release).

The bad news for you is that after investigating, I concluded that Essence Transit should happen after Unstable damage instead of before (like it does for regular damage), which means that the damage prediction is correct, and with the next release you won't be able to cheat death like you do today. Sorry ;-)
We made an expansion and it is awesome. Really, you should check it out, especially if you're looking for some extra challenge.

TL is the first dungeon I've seen where Strength Potion is a legitimately good option.

I tried to do the Yendor cheese but the shops didn't offer it to me and I still only fell two attacks short of victory, if I'd brought a Fortitude Tonic I'd've made it.

I only killed two of the minibosses (Crazed Regen and Ensnare) and maybe I should have gone after more, it just feels so bad going after a level 10 Bloodless No Experience monster.

As TheAvatar explained, we don't recommend using Yendor for the quests as we know that they are doable without it,
but that doesn't mean that we forbid you to use it, especially if you get stuck on a particular quest.

I think that the original game dev knew how strong it was and decided to leave it that way to give a way to players
to get less frustrated with some quests. I also think that without it the vanilla game would be much more complicated
to rainbow. For instance if you take GoatPerson in NagaCity, choongmyoung and I did it with Yendor, and I fare good luck to anyone who want to do it without (I'm not saying it's impossible though, only much harder).

I will add that I'm not as good a player as TheAvatar of Shade_of_ox and that Yendor always occupies one of my locker slots.

If I had to nerf it, I think that I would make Yendor give a free level up, like JJ's Chaos Avatar.
That way you keep the normal usage at high level and prevent cheesing the low levels.

Speaking of FFFF pt.3, I assume that Dragon Scale is the most solid prep, and of course you want to take Patches with you too.

If you want to try maxing your CP, one nice way can be to take fewer glyphs, bring in a Transmutation seal and use it on a Viper Ward/Soul Orb. That should give you ~250 CP instead of 215 for 0 gold. If you prepped Elite Item, you can even do that with the Orb of Zot or Yendor and get 300CP for 0 gold.

Combined with the other glyph conversions, you can easily get to 7 levels of Lifesteal. But don't forget that it is capped by your damage anyway, so try to increase that stat too.

@eastless Oh you started the gilded goat series? Its a fantastic set of challenges with one at the end that will blow your mind :)

@unidentifiedTower I cleared FFFF pt.3. only a few weeks ago, here is how I did it:
- Prep Yendor, Shield, Translocation Scroll, Less Glyphs, Elite Shops, Black Market, Strength/Health/Dodge/Reflex potions
- Explore some parts of the dungeon before evaluating to reset. Make sure you use your strength potion when seeing the blood pools! If you find 1-2 glyphs and a good item (Vampiric Blade, Serpentine Shield, etc.) keep going and try to keep your blood cows alive as long as possible. If not, reset. Try to get some bonus XP before using Yendor to instantly gain a few blood cows. With them, tackle high level enemies, killing oneshot popcorn in the process. This should bring you to around lvl 8. Then I killed the Fast Regen and one other Boss (I think) before going after the real boss.
