Special Rules

Monsters may be replaced by special Fallen Adventurers, who do not give experience, but drop very useful items and gold.

Strategy

Deadman's Pass is a relatively straight forward dungeon full of East-signature undead. Of particular note are the Fallen Adventurers, of which there are Fighters which drop Item: Badge of Honour Badge of Honour, Wizards which drop Item: Keg of Mana Keg of Mana. Priests that drop Item: Keg of Health Keg of Health and Thieves that drop 25 gold. All of these are very helpful for the boss, who has EXTREMELY high stats for a Normal level dungeon.

It's a fairly trivial dungeon outside of the boss. Zombies are tough customers, but at only 100% difficulty they shouldn't be much. Vampires are a nuisance at worst and ideal targets at best, and the new monster, the Frozen Corpse, is more of a harmless introduction to Frostbite than a real obstacle. The real challenge here comes from Vicious Token runs, where you'd really better be a Priest to punch through Deadman's insane healthpool, and maybe the rat monarch quest if you're uncomfortable playing the class.

Boss

Deadman's got bulk for days AND high attack, but for as intimidating as that is, he should prove to be no true issue. You can easily accrue 10+ of each kind of potion, sit on multiple death protections, and have enough gold to buy out most of the shops. Simply put, outside of an extremely unlucky distribution of items and monsters, odds are good that you will be able to beat Deadman's inflated stats with your own.
